WELCOME TO THE BUNKER
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Yugioh Dressing Room's Re-Opening Event. After a relatively lengthy hiatus, the mods for the room have been working to revive it as best they can, and as such, we're finally ready!
The event that we'll be kicking off the opening with will be akin to a Murdergame in some respects, and last for a few months. During this time, we the mods will be working behind the scenes with final touch ups, but for the most part you can think of it as a way to jump into the pond so to speak!
That said, while it's murdergame like, there are a number of differences that we'll now explain.
A BATTLE TO THE...DEATH?
First off, people will not necessarily have to die.
This method can be anything from dueling, to singing, to fencing, to eating, and the only clause is this; the specific method of combat cannot be used twice. (In other words, we can't just have all duels. Sorry guys.) When the method has been decided, combatants will have their fight, with the loser being taken away to the sides, and the winner potentially gaining something from the mess.
It won't be the end for the loser either; characters who have lost will be allowed to take part in a unique, secondary portion to the event-one which is actually critical to the ‘plot’!
Until then, this method of 'battle' will divide the entire event into sets of two.
The first part of each round (excluding the base setting log) will begin with an Anonymous post. All players will be commenting using anon only, with the chosen combatants being given predetermined 'usernames' with which to ICly chatter their way into a decided method of combat. From here, everyone else-the two combatants included-are open to chat in what will be called the 'Witnesses' board, anonymously interacting as they observe the debate.
The second part of each round will act to set the environment of each coming round; it begins not with the battle itself, but instead with the battle's conclusion, which will be randomly determined by the flip of a coin, and written according to the desires of the players involved. For the battles, players do have the option of playing the fights out ICly of course-but for the most part, these logs are player’s chances to ICly interact with their environment, and thus do more than shout anonymously at the other all day.
In order to give each player a chance to involve themselves in the battle system, the rounds will be determined not by muse number, but instead by the number of players.
For example; when Player 1 and 2 are chosen to have a battle, the mods ask each one individually which of their muses will fight. Player 1, who signs on with only one character, is simply told their character has been chosen. Player two however, who signed up with three, is asked which muse they wish to fight with.
At this point, Player 1 and 2 are no longer able to be chosen for combat, despite Player 2 having two other characters. They can however, with those two characters, continue to interact with the remaining unmatched/winners as before.
Rounds will continue like this until either all players have participated, or (in the event that there are too few players), all able players have gone twice; the details of the end of the event, however, will depend on both sides of the event- the winners and losers alike- have made their way forward.
SIGN ON
More details on the primary location itself will be released alongside the first log for the event, but Questions can also be asked below. Aside from this, consider this an OOC intro log for everyone as well! You can use this post, after signing up, to introduce players to yourself as well as the muses you'll be bringing in.
Full details on the rules of the Dressing Room can be found here, but aside from this, the following muses can be brought in. (Please note that links to player directories and similar will apply to the NEW Dressing Room, and should be assumed 'inactive' at this time):
Additionally, as a test-run that will potentially be extended into the renewed game itself the following will be allowed:
(A good example of such would be an Overwatch Character from an AU where combat uses duel monsters, or a former Game muse who picked up the game from a card-based character. A former game muse who was significantly influenced or affected by a card-media character would also count; players should feel free to ask if they are unsure whether a character is eligible or not.)
As noted above, player count will be what determine the number of rounds, rather than the number of muses. As such, players can enter up to SIX characters if they so desire, provided they are up to the task of maintaining so many through the event. The Dressing Room of course does not have an actual limit, but those who are chosen to be combatants for example, will be expected to participate to a greater extent with that chosen muse.
In order to sign up, fill out the form in the comment below, and reply to it with your chosen handle in the subject line. And example from one of the participants should be there for reference, if one is stuck.
